60 years ago in Mérida, Yucatán, Pedro Infante, the idol of Mexico, died in an airplane accident and on the occasion of his death anniversary, a 5K race was held.

The race started and finished at the same place where the actor lost his life when the plane he was traveling in crashed.

Azael Gutíerrez was the winner of the men's race and Abigail Cabrera in the women's.

310 athletes participated in the competition and Armando Infante, the actor's son, attended.
