The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will once again be the venue for a top-category event, as on September 2nd and 3rd the second edition of the 6 Hours of Mexico will take place, where Roberto González will be the only competitor from the country.
Ricardo González, promoter of the 6 Hours of Mexico, announced that on April 24th the tickets for the WEC 2017 will go on sale, ranging from 550 to 15,000 pesos.
"We have set the release date for April 24th, at the Foro Sol sur, and we are considering a price of 550 pesos; Foro Sol norte, 800 pesos; Platino plus, 3,100 pesos, which includes an additional service of a drinks bar; Grada 1 and 2, 1,600 pesos; Grada 1 and 2 suites, 7,500 pesos, the same as last year; and in the Paddock suites, 15,000 pesos", mentioned Ricardo.
In addition, there will be a Fan Zone, which promises to be more attractive than the previous year's, as "it will be structured in stages, with the theme being endurance and the idea is to create these stages so that fans can experience something different during the six hours", he added.
Running in the WEC in Mexico is "a dream"
Mexican driver Roberto González said he is proud to represent the country, as the fans are the ones who give an extra touch to the competitions and always show their support to their compatriots.
"Without the fans, there is no event, as we all know, the Mexican fans are unique, us drivers who have had the opportunity to race in different parts of the world, know that the Mexican fans create an atmosphere that does not exist anywhere else in the world."
González expressed that bringing such an important championship to the capital of sports "is a significant achievement", something "that fills all Mexican drivers, all those involved in motorsports in Mexico, with pride and being part of it is a dream".
Roberto hopes that the 6 Hours of Mexico will be a great event, just like it was last year, as it was rated as the best race of the 2016 World Endurance Championship.
"Last year, I know that time was limited in order to organize everything that goes into bringing a series like this, this year there is much more time, there is already the experience from last year; therefore, I believe that the organization will be much better than last year, where there were about 45,000 spectators, but after seeing what was generated last year, I am confident that they won't disappoint this year", he assured.
Regarding the level of competition that there will be in the 6 Hours of Mexico, he stated that it will be more competitive, as "the entire regulation has changed, with new and more powerful cars, the difference between the LMP2 and the P1 prototypes is very small compared to last year, therefore the preparation of the car will be key", he concluded.
