Canelas 2010 Team Sends Referee to the Hospital

The Canelas 2010 team, made up of the most recognizable leaders of the 'Super Dragons', the fan group of the Portuguese Porto team, made headlines again by sending the referee of their match to the hospital after a knee to the face.

Two minutes into the game, one of the players from Canelas 2010 delivered a knee to the referee's face. This action left the referee with a broken nose and on a stretcher heading to the hospital.

The foul was called after another member of Canelas 2010 threw a punch at an opponent. The referee witnessed this and penalized it, but the team's reaction was not the best.

This is not the first time that the Canelas 2010 team has carried out such a violent action. The Portuguese Football Referees Association states that referees are at risk of being knocked down on the field due to controversy.
