Balance with two losses on Wednesday in the German tournament: the ATP 500 in Hamburg is left without Argentines. After a negative Tuesday, another tough day followed on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Sebastián Báez (ATP 63rd) couldn't defeat Casper Ruud in the ATP 500 in Hamburg. The Norwegian, ranked 4th in the world and top seed, won 6-3, 6-1, and 6-3. Earlier, in the second round, Guido Pella had already been defeated.

The Norwegian, who reached the final at the ATP 250 in Bastad, had already faced Báez (also in 2023) in Estoril, where Ruud won 6-3 and 6-0. This time, the story was more complex but had the same outcome.

Báez, in his last seven matches, has only one victory: against Nuno Borges in Eastbourne. The previous five defeats were against Cameron Norrie, Gaël Monfils, Tommy Paul, Tomás Barrios Vera, and Federico Coria.

Ruud, on the other hand, reached the final in Bastad weeks after making it to the final stage of Roland Garros, marking his best performance of the year. The winner will face Chilean player Christian Garin, ranked 120th in the world, who defeated Bolivian Hugo Dellien (164th).

Meanwhile, in the second round, Guido Pella (world No. 228) couldn't defeat Laslo Djere (57th). The Bahía Blanca player secured his return to the Top 200 by defeating Brazilian Thiago Monteiro (121st) 6-3, 4-6, and 6-4.
