Our compatriot Lucca Mesinas finished fifth in the US Open of Surf, held in the city of California, United States. The national surfer achieved the best result of his season in terms of 'challengers', after accumulating 4745 points, a record that put him in the top 15 of the ranking.
After initially dominating the series against the local surfer Eithan Osborne, Mesinas raised his arms due to the delayed decision of the judge, which ended up favoring the Californian.
This action was the turning point of the heat. Everything was going well for Lucca, but also for Eithan, who had a score of 7 and 6.87.
