Roland Garros 2022: Semifinals
The Roland Garros 2022 is nearing its end and on Friday, June 3, the two semifinal matches of the tennis tournament will take place. Rafael Nadal achieved his 29th victory against Novak Djokovic with scores of 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, and 7-6 (7/4) in a match that lasted 4 hours and 12 minutes.
With this win, the Spanish tennis player is two games away from conquering his 22nd Grand Slam title. However, Rafa will first have to face Alexander Zverev, the number 3 in the world, who also played a great match against Carlos Alcaraz, one of the favorites to reach the final of the French Open.
The German has not yet won any of the four major competitions and has never reached a final, but he has been very close. This will be the second time he plays a Roland Garros semifinal since he lost in the semis to Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2021. Meanwhile, he hasn't played against Rafa since the Rome Masters last year.

On the other side of the bracket, Croatia's Marin Cilic secured his spot in this stage of the tournament in the early hours of the afternoon (in Peru), after defeating Russian Andrey Rublev in a thrilling match that lasted 4 hours and 14 minutes with scores of 5-7, 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, and 7-6 (10/2).
Casper Ruud, former world number 1 in the junior category, also had a long match against the young Danish player Holger Rune, and in the end, it was the Norwegian tennis player who came out as the winner with scores of 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7/2), and 6-3. Thus, the Nordic player will face Cilic in the other semifinal match.
