A good sports day was experienced, this Saturday, April 30th, for the Peruvian delegation present at the 2022 Rosario South American Youth Games. The young athletes managed to win seven medals (one gold, three silver, and three bronze), adding up to 13 in the overall medal count (three gold, five silver, and five bronze).
In freestyle wrestling, 60 kg category, Fernando Sandoval won the gold medal by defeating Brazilian Roger Dos Santos 13-2.
On the other hand, Gonzalo Bueno and Ignacio Buse obtained the silver medal, after losing in the doubles final against Paraguayans Daniel Vallejo and Martín Vergara by 6-2 and 6-4.
In women's tennis, Lucciana Pérez and Alessia Martínez won the silver medal, after losing 4-6, 6-2, and 10-6 against Argentinians Giovannini and Moyano.
Likewise, Alexia Sotomayor added her third medal in the competition: she has one gold and two silver. The national swimmer finished in second place in the 200-meter backstroke and took the silver with a time of 2 minutes, 17 seconds, and 42 hundredths.

The three bronze medals of the day were won by Diego Balbi (swimming 100-meter butterfly), Sebastián Castro (taekwondo 73 kg category), and Yossiani Peceros (taekwondo 44 kg category).
Who can win a medal this Sunday, May 1st?
Alexandra Zavala has the possibility of winning a medal (gold or silver) in the recurve archery final, when she faces Brazilian Trindade Estevez.
Likewise, Gonzalo Bueno and Lucciana Pérez will play the mixed doubles final in tennis against the Argentine duo Lautaro Midon and Luciana Moyano.
