Usain Bolt wins third Olympic gold in the 100 meters

Usain Bolt won his third Olympic gold in the 100 meters before nearly 50,000 people who came to see one of the greatest attractions of Rio 2016. The podium was completed by Justin Gatlin of the United States, booed during the presentation, and Canadian Andre De Grasse with the bronze.

Although Gatlin took advantage of Bolt's slow start and put pressure on him for almost 80 meters, he only managed a time of 9.89 against the fastest man in history.

In the semifinals, Bolt showed superiority with a time of 9.86, despite slowing down in the last 10 meters. He managed to beat De Grasse by six hundredths of a second, who recorded the second best time.

Another smile as he crosses the finish line, a custom since 2008. Only a disqualification in South Korea has been able to take away the gold in major competitions since he surprised the world at the Bird's Nest in the Beijing Games, which now seem so distant.
