Presentation of the National Professional Basketball League All-Star Game

During the presentation of the National Professional Basketball League All-Star Game, Sergio Ganem, the president of the league, took some time to explain his position on the conflict that has existed between the federations in recent years in basketball, and assured that it is not a matter that concerns the organization.

"The LNBP is a private league, just like soccer or the Mexican Baseball League. We are entities that invest in forming a professional basketball circuit.

We have the endorsement of ADEMEBA which is currently recognized by FIBA. The disputes that exist between the Mexican Federation with ADEMEBA and other actors, I don't get involved in that part, because it's not my responsibility."

Similarly, Ganem stressed that in recent months there have been efforts to resolve that situation, however, regardless of that, the LNBP works autonomously and simply responds to the institution endorsed by FIBA and the Mexican authorities.

"The position of the league is not to get involved in the federative issue because it is not our concern, we will continue to develop talent, we will continue to prioritize what we dedicate ourselves to, which is to provide a top-level sports spectacle."

Finally, the executive reiterated that it would be good for basketball if the problems are eradicated, but if not, they will continue working as they have done so far.

"If the federations work it out, great for our sport, and if they want to continue getting caught up in their problems, those are their problems, we don't have to take on those problems, we will continue to develop talent."
