On Thursday, September 8, the 'Tournament, Clinic and Gathering with Lorena Ochoa' will take place at the Club Campestre Torreón, which is held annually to raise funds for the Generación 2000 A.C Foundation.
The presentation was held this Tuesday at the Marriott hotel, by Marcela Coghlan Sariñana, member of the organizing committee, together with Julián Alba González, general director of Campestre Torreón, and Cristina Rosales, biocentric coordinator of the Generación 2000 Foundation.
The A Go Go tournament will be played in teams of 4 players each, there will be two starts per hole and there will be 22 teams on the field.
The clinic with Lorena Ochoa will be from 8:00 to 9:00 am, at 9:45 am the start will take place, at 11:00 am the golfer will visit the players and at 3:30 pm the award ceremony lunch will be held.
The registrations are already closed, each participant will receive a welcome kit, breakfast will be offered on the day of the tournament, they will participate in a round of play and will have the right to attend the clinic offered by the golfer, with whom they can interact on the field and at the award cocktail, in addition to participating in the raffle of 90 items.
Marcela Coghlan explained that in these activities, participants will be able to interact with the golfer throughout the development of the tournament. She is also very accessible when it comes to signing autographs, exchanging opinions, and taking photographs.
The funds raised through registrations and donations will be allocated to the Foundation, which is committed to the development and foundation of the younger generations in different ejidos and communities in the Comarca Lagunera, offering comprehensive education for the promotion of economic, social and cultural development in those communities.
Currently, it has 80 students, who receive education at the elementary level, are offered sports and artistic activities, and mainly, education, guided by highly trained personnel. All this to keep them away from the dangers of the streets and give them tools to become agents of change in the place where they live.
The first Lorena Ochoa golf tournament was born in 2006 in La Laguna, then moved to Cuernavaca, Morelos, and then returned in 2015 to the Campestre Torreón, where it will be held for the third time in what will be its seventh edition.
Julián Alba González, on the other hand, commented that the field is in perfect conditions to receive once again the tournament and the clinic.
The field has 18 holes, is par 72, has three lakes, and has a total area of 45 hectares.
As for the tournament, amateur golfers from any category participate, as well as professionals, who cannot aspire to o'yes and hole in one prizes, nor can they win the competition.
They will play 18 holes in teams, which must have a minimum handicap of 48, those with less can play, but do not compete for the trophy.
The gentlemen and juniors with a handicap of 14 to 18 will start from the white marks, the Seniors from the gold marks, and the ladies and children up to 13 years old from the red marks.
In case of a tie, the cards will be compared to determine the top three positions.
The cost for members is 3,000 pesos and for non-members it is 3,200 pesos, they can register at the Sports Coordination Office.
