Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Yuzvendra Chahal humorously extended an invitation to AB de Villiers to join the former IPL champions, Rajasthan Royals (RR).
In a lighthearted exchange on De Villiers’ YouTube channel, the South African legend asked Chahal if he believed he had one more season left in him.
“Yeah, definitely, you can play for Rajasthan now,” Chahal said.
De Villiers shared a playful anecdote about playing with his kids in the nets, realizing he still had the knack for hitting the ball.
“I was in the nets with the kids yesterday, grabbing those small knee-high bats. Striking a couple right in the middle, I thought, maybe I should take a few more hits and get a feel for it again,” De Villiers said.
Chahal then commented that the South African maestro could hit sixes effortlessly even past the age of 60.
“You can hit sixes even when you’re 50-60. No doubt about it,” Chahal said.
Despite De Villiers’ iconic status as the second-highest run-scorer for RCB, Chahal playfully diverted him towards Rajasthan Royals. RCB’s all-time leading wicket-taker, Chahal has excelled in the IPL with 139 wickets in 113 matches.
In his recent stints with RR, he has continued to impress. Chahal has picked 48 wickets in just 31 games over the past two IPL seasons.
