The Conmebol announces that on October 20 the groups of the Venezuela 2024 Pre-Olympics will be drawn.

"The Competition Management of Conmebol announced that this Friday, October 20, the draw for the Group Stage of the 2024 Conmebol Pre-Olympic will take place, to be held from January 20 to February 11 of the following year in Venezuela," said the organization on its official website.

According to the draw methodology, published by the Confederation, Venezuela will be the top seed of Group A, while the current champion of the continental competition - Argentina - will be the top seed of Group B.

The rest of the teams will be placed in four bowls, according to their participation in the previous Pre-Olympic, held in Colombia in 2020.

If there are no modifications, Brazil and Uruguay will be in Pot 1, Colombia and Chile in Pot 2, Bolivia and Paraguay in Pot 3, Peru and Ecuador in Pot 4.

The tournament, which will be played in the under-23 category, will have two groups of five teams each in the group stage.

"The Final Phase of the competition will be played as follows: the four (4) teams qualified from the group stage, that is, the two (2) best-placed teams from each group, will participate in this phase, with the same round-robin system," detailed Conmebol.

The top two teams from the final phase quadrangular will secure the two spots in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
