Mathieu Raynal, the French referee in charge of the match against England, has officiated the most matches involving Los Pumas (seven times). First, he was present in the defeat against Australia by 33-21 in 2016. In addition, in 2017 he officiated two matches: Ireland 28-19 Los Pumas and Los Pumas 20-37 Australia. In 2018, Raynal refereed the defeats against Scotland and New Zealand, while in 2021 he was involved in the victory against Romania and in 2022 in the loss to Scotland.
Paul Williams will be the referee in charge of the match against Chile. The New Zealander first officiated a match involving Los Pumas in 2018, in the victory of Scotland over Argentina by 14-9 at Murrayfield. In 2019, during the group stage of the Japan World Cup, he officiated in Argentina's thrashing of the United States by 47-17. Lastly, he was present in the draw against Australia by 15-15 in the 2020 Tri Nations.
On the other hand, Ben O'Keeffe from New Zealand has been in charge of six matches with Los Pumas. He will be the referee in the match against Japan and it will be his third time officiating a World Cup match involving Argentina. O'Keeffe's first match with the Argentinian team was in 2016, in the loss against Scotland, and then he repeated in 2018 in the defeat against South Africa. In the lead-up to the 2019 Japan World Cup, he was present in Australia's victory over Argentina by 16-10. In the World Cup itself, he was the assistant referee in two Los Pumas matches, both in the group stage. First, he assisted Jaco Peyper (South Africa) in Argentina's victory over Tonga by 28-12, and then he assisted Nigel Owens (Wales) in the defeat against England by 39-10. Lastly, in 2022, O'Keeffe officiated two matches: Argentina 34-31 Scotland and Wales 20-13 Argentina.
Lastly, Australian referee Nic Berry, who will be in charge of the match against Samoa, has officiated the Argentinian team on five occasions: Ireland 28-17 Los Pumas (2018), New Zealand 38-0 Los Pumas (2020), New Zealand 39-0 Los Pumas (2021), Los Pumas 26-18 Scotland (2022), New Zealand 53-0 Los Pumas (2022).
