Australia will have a world champion heading into France 2023: Steve Hansen has accepted Eddie Jones' request and will be part of the Wallabies staff in the final preparation for the World Cup.
The former coach of the All Blacks, with whom he won the RWC in 2015, will join the Aussie coaching staff for the final warm-up match prior to the tournament, which will be against Les Bleus on Sunday, August 27.
The Wallabies officials have confirmed that Hansen is in the camp with the national team and it is expected that he will be with the team for about a week. It is still to be confirmed if he will be present during the match at Stade de France.
Finally, it is worth remembering the words of the former head coach of the All Blacks about Jones earlier this year. "Eddie is a rugby man through and through, he loves the game. He's quirky... and has a great work ethic but, deep down, he cares about the game and the people involved in it. He's a good game analyst. He has the ability to bring a group together quite quickly. I just enjoy his company. I like talking rugby with him and he also has a good sense of humor," said Hansen.
