Jon Rahm conquers the Masters of Augusta

Jon Rahm conquered the Masters of Augusta this Sunday, the second major of his career, and became the fourth Spaniard capable of achieving this feat after Severiano Ballesteros, José María Olazábal, and Sergio García.

Rahm triumphed after overcoming a two-stroke disadvantage to Brooks Koepka in the fourth round to don the green jacket for the first time in his career.

The Barrika native gave Spain glory in Augusta six years after Sergio García did it in 2017.

Severiano Ballesteros' birthday

Rahm was crowned on the day when Severiano Ballesteros, the first Spanish champion of the Masters, would have turned 66.

'Seve', who passed away in 2011 and is considered one of the greatest golfers of all time, won this tournament in 1980 and 1983.

He was joined by Olazábal, who donned the green jacket in 1994 and 1999.

It took 18 years for Spain to triumph again at Augusta National, thanks to Sergio García in 2017.

A historic win

This Sunday, after a tournament marked by the heat on the first day and the storms on Friday and Saturday, Rahm definitively entered the history of the Masters and Spanish golf.
