Umran Malik puts one in the arc for Daryl Mitchell, who lofts it down the ground for another straight six. A third for him on the night. A fourth maximum for New Zealand in what has been a disappointing response on a surface that frankly hasn't offered much to the bowlers. 65/8 after 11 overs.
Hardik Pandya gets his third. A regulation catch for Umran Malik at mid on as Lockie Ferguson plays a lose shot to give away his wicket without scoring a run off four deliveries.
It has been an out and out drubbing of the visitors in Motera tonight and their defence of 234 began with Pandya striking in the first over. The all rounder leading with the new ball in his hand has been an absolute gift for this Indian side.
New Zealand, 54/8 and India are on the verge.
A second wicket for Shivam Mavi off his first over. Ish Sodhi gone off his second delivery, trying to squeeze one through gully. A superb two handed diving grab from Rahul Tripathi. New Zealand, 53/7 after nine overs.

Eight come off Umran Malik's second over. That's the joint highest scored by New Zealand in an over this innings and they've done so in four off their seven overs so far. However, look at that required rate climb over 15 now. 35/1 after seven overs. With the opposition held to a corner, Hardik Pandya gives the ball to Kuldeep Yadav.
A timed to perfection lofted shot from Daryl Mitchell all the way down the ground for a maximum. Just the kind of shots New Zealand need and they'll need the right hander to come up with these in every over now. 30/5 at the end of the powerplay.
Later in his first over, Umran pitches one down the leg and Kishan completes the take behind with the belief that Santner has gloved it. The review however shows there's no contact made. Deemed wide and off we move. 22/5 after five overs.
Half of New Zealand's lineup back in the hut. This is turning out to be a short night for the visitors and a disappointing conclusion to a series decider. The pace of Umran Malik does the trick, cleans up Michael Bracewell. 21/5 after 4.3 overs.
Arshdeep Singh gets a wicket off his first ball. Devon Conway caught driving by the Indian skipper at mid off. A soft dismissal. Hardik Pandya won't get an easier catch all night. New Zealand, 4/2 inside seven deliveries.
Skipper Hardik Pandya has the ball. Finn Allen and Devon Conway in the middle. 235 is the target. Here we go!
Of course there is. The rollers have done their bit but the inevitable. India captain Hardik Pandya opted to bat first but his New Zealand counterpart always wanted to bowl first on this wicket because of the testing conditions for the bowlers later in the evening. But a test India would want to take in bilaterals, especially with the series all level and up for taking.
A night for the highest scores. India finish at 234/4, highest by any team against New Zealand in T20Is. Shubman Gill (126 off 63) finishes with the highest T20I score by an Indian in the format.
