Marlo, The Golf Ball Retrieving Dog

It is not the first time that a four-legged friend ventures into sports, but Marlo is undoubtedly the latest sensation, at least in South London, where he and his owner have solved the eternal problem of lost small white golf balls in large fields like the one in the Wimbledon area.

Marlo and his owner, Charles Jefferson, have been working together for five years now, and they have managed to recover over 6,000 golf balls throughout forests and fields that have been accumulated over time. Marlo surprised everyone when he arrived in the Jefferson family and on his first walk, he returned with a coveted Titleist Pro V1 ball, sought after in the collector's market.

It is estimated that in the United States alone, at least 300 million golf balls are lost each year. While many might think it is not a major problem, the reality is that finding these balls is also a business opportunity, a way to give back. There are even companies that hire people who want to dedicate themselves to this task, not only in golf courses but also in lakes.

Charles, a 52-year-old amateur golfer, shared in an interview with CNN that he has donated part of the earnings he has obtained thanks to Marlo's talent. They enjoy their favorite activity together twice a week.
