Swiss player Roger Federer undergoes knee surgery, will miss the entire clay court season

The Swiss player Roger Federer has announced, through his social media, that he has undergone surgery on his right knee and will miss the entire clay court season, including Roland Garros; "See you on the grass," said the tennis player to his followers.

Federer will not return to the courts until the end of June, and in these four months he will miss the tournaments in Dubai next week, Indian Wells, Bogota, Miami, and the entire clay court season, including Roland Garros.

The number 3 in the world ranking underwent arthroscopy on his right knee on Wednesday in Switzerland due to discomfort that he had been experiencing for several weeks.

"My right knee has been bothering me for a while. After tests and talking with my team, we decided that the best thing to do was to go through surgery. I'm looking forward to playing again. See you on the grass," commented Federer, who also thanked all his followers.

As it stands, the Swiss player, who had already announced that he would not participate in the Madrid and Rome Masters 1000, could make a comeback in a tournament prior to Wimbledon, perhaps the Queen's, which starts on June 15.
