The Quito microtennis player María José Borja, with 954 points, is among the top 100 in the under-15 ranking of the International Table Tennis Federation.
According to the records made public by the Press Department of the Azuay Sports Federation, the table tennis player remains in 92nd place.
Majo, as the Ecuadorian representative is known, is 13 years old and is preparing for international challenges.
According to the schedule of the Latin American Table Tennis Union, this season's activity begins on March 4th and ends on March 8th with the U-15 and U-18 South American Championship, to be held in Lima.
The Sub-11 and Sub-13 South American Tournament is also included, which will take place from May 12th to 17th in Salta, Argentina; the U-15 Latin American tournament, to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in July; the U-11 and U-13 Latin American Championship, in Cuenca, from October 27th to 31st, among others.
In her participation in the 2019 season, Borja won the silver medal in doubles at the South American and Youth World Circuit Championship in Santiago de Chile, in March.
At the end of May, she won the runner-up title in the U-13 individual category at the South American Table Tennis U-11 and U-13 Championship, which took place in Cuenca and where Ecuador won the title; while in the XXV South American School Games in Asunción, María José won two silver medals and two bronze medals.
