Tennis Table Results at the Cuenca 2019 National Games
Pichincha, with 188 points, and Guayas, with 163, finished first and second, respectively, in the table tennis events held in this city as part of the Cuenca 2019 Menor National Games. The third place went to Morona Santiago, which reached 86 points.
In the finals of the different competitions, Pichincha, who defeated Guayas in the semifinals, won the title in the men's team games.
The gold and red team was represented by Daniel Robayo, Ariel Albán, and Gabriel Zambrano; while Guayas, which finished third, participated with Jeremías Franco, Martín González, and Boris Villavicencio; the silver medal went to Santa Elena, with Jean Carlos Bermeo, Sebastián Orrala, and Luis Josué Torres.
In the women's team event, the final positions were: 1. Manabí, with Maybelline Menéndez, Elizabeth Espinales, and Stefany Molina; 2. Pichincha, with Judith Arellano, Samantha Nogales, and Ainoha Factos; 3. Guayas, with Fiorella Olaya, Angie Cedeño, and Elizabeth Palacios.
Guayas, with Fiorella Olaya and Nicole Cedeño, won the women's doubles title by defeating Manabí 3-1, who reached the final with Maybelline Menéndez and Diana Espinales.
In the men's doubles event, Guayas, with Boris Villavicencio and Juan González, won gold by defeating Pichincha's Henry Ibarra and Daniel Robayo with a score of 2-1.
In the mixed doubles, there were two series, the upper, won by Napo with Néicer Cunalata and Ashley Gómez, and the lower, won by Guayas with Juan González and Fiorella Olaya.
In the singles event, Santiago Ibarra from Pichincha and María José Borja from Azuay were the winners. (D)
