They continue to compete for the podium. The national badminton delegation advanced to the quarterfinals and will seek to add more medals for Peru in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. The categories that are still in the competition are the women's singles, doubles for both genders, and mixed doubles.
Peruvian Daniela Macias defeated Mexican Adriana Valera and advanced to the quarterfinals in the women's singles category and will face American Iris Wang, this Wednesday at 11 a.m. But it's not the only competition where she will fight to enter the medal table.
Along with Danica Nishimura, Daniela will seek to qualify for the semifinals in the doubles category against Brazilians Samia Passos and Jaqueline Lopes. Just like them, Inés Castillo and Paula La Torre will seek to reach the podium in this badminton category against Canadians Kristen Tsai and Rachel Honderich.
In the men's doubles, the duo formed by Mario Cuba and Diego Mini will seek to secure a new medal for Peru against Canadians Nyl Yakura and Jason Ho-Shue. Diego also competes in the mixed doubles category with Danica Nichimura, both will compete against the American couple Paula Obanana and Howard Shu.
All quarterfinal matches in badminton will be held at Polideportivo 3 de la Videna and will take place this Wednesday, July 31st, starting at 9 a.m. Here we give you the schedule of matches and their times:
