London (AFP) -
Defeated on Tuesday in the first round of Queen's after almost a year away from the court due to injury, former world number 1 Andy Murray decided to accept the invitation of the Eastbourne Tournament (Australia) to get some playing time on grass and, above all, test himself ahead of his possible participation in Wimbledon.
His return to competition did not go as expected for the Scottish tennis player. The two-time Wimbledon winner, who hadn't played since last year's quarterfinals at the London Grand Slam, realized his poor physical condition in his defeat against Nick Kyrgios.
"I'm not ruling anything out. I'm not ruling out playing in Eastbourne and not playing Wimbledon. I'm still not sure," he said after the match.
His decision to be present at the start of Wimbledon (July 2) will depend on what happens in Australia.
