If in tennis both the audience and the players are asked for sanity, Jared Donaldson seems not to have received this information. The young athlete starred in an embarrassing incident at the Montecarlo Masters 1000, which has sparked many criticisms.
The video has quickly gone viral on YouTube. Donaldson, 21, faced Spanish player Albert Ramos on Monday, the finalist of the Montecarlo Masters 1000 last year. He was trailing on the scoreboard and was not willing to miss any chance of a comeback.
That's why the American player requested to check the replay of his opponent's serve. The referee had called it in, but Donaldson was sure it was out. After confirming it, he got furious. As seen in the YouTube video, he confronts the referee, shouting at him and at one point getting dangerously close to him.
Despite his bad temper, no disciplinary actions have been taken. Perhaps being eliminated from the Montecarlo Masters 1000 with a double 6-3 defeat was punishment enough.
