Since last year he only had five games in the First Division, Raúl Fernández decided to get more minutes in the Reserve team of Universitario de Deportes and it went well for him: he focused on preventing goals and, surprisingly, also scored them. Against Sporting Cristal, from the penalty spot, the '1' scored.

That wasn't the only sacrifice he made. Raúl Fernández gave up his December vacation and worked double shifts at Campo Mar. He knew, in fact, that he was going to be a regular this season in the first team. He wanted to be at 100%.

Pedro Troglio and the rest of the team are aware of these details - and that he is the last one to leave the practice, training even with tennis balls and american footballs for reflexes, and adding two hours of gym per day.

That's why, despite the understandable anger of the '12' after his false start with Oriente Petrolero, he has total support: he will continue in the '11' of Universitario de Deportes for the Torneo de Verano. "Superman" feels that this is an opportunity for redemption.

"It hurts, but you have to get up quickly. As I said on other occasions, falling is allowed, getting up is mandatory," Fernández confessed with Depor.

Not everything on social media was negative for the cream goalkeeper, he also received support from colleagues, even from other teams. In his hands, literally, is his chance for revenge.
