Golden State Warriors Announce Stephen Curry's Ankle Sprain
The Golden State Warriors from the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced on Tuesday the absence of point guard Stephen Curry due to a sprained ankle in his right foot.
Today, Curry underwent an MRI in Charlotte, North Carolina, a medical procedure that confirmed the sprained ankle in his right foot, as reported by the Golden State franchise through their official website.
According to the results of the MRI, Curry's ankle is in a stable and structurally intact state; the Warriors announced that their starting point guard will be out of the courts for the next two weeks, during which he will be reevaluated.
Curry's right ankle sprain occurred due to a twist he suffered when stepping on the foot of E'Twaun Moore, shooting guard for the New Orleans Pelicans, during Monday night's game, which ended with a score of 125-115 in favor of Golden State.
In the current season, Curry has averaged 26.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.1 rebounds in 23 appearances, contributing to the Golden State Warriors' record of 19 wins and six losses in the 2017-2018 NBA season.
Golden State is in Charlotte to visit the Hornets at Spectrum Center on Wednesday, in a game scheduled for 8:00 PM Eastern Time in the United States.
