Mexican golfer Margarita Ramos shines at Symetra Tour
Mexican golfer Margarita Ramos had a standout performance at the Symetra Tour, securing her third top 10 finish of the season by tying for eighth place at the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic in Rochester, New York.
Ramos carded rounds of 71, 68, 68, and 72, for a total of 279 strokes, nine under par, trailing Danish golfer Nanna Koerstz Madsen by 13 strokes. Madsen claimed the tournament title, which featured a purse of $150,000, and took place at the Brook Lea Country Club.
Mexican golfers Sandra Angulo Minarro, Paola Pavón, and Lili Álvarez, on the other hand, failed to make the cut.
Alejandra Llaneza misses cut at Marathon Classic
In the Marathon Classic Presented by Owens Corning an O-I, a regular event on the LPGA Tour calendar, Mexico City native Alejandra Llaneza finished with a total score of 144 strokes, two over par, falling short of making the cut in the tournament held at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio.
Korean golfer In-Kyung Kim emerged as the champion of the competition, which featured a $1.6 million purse. Kim finished with a score of 65, 67, 68, and 63, for a total of 263, 21 under par.
