Golf Match Play Tournament
This Friday, the first round of the Golf Match Play Tournament took place at the Campestre Torreón Club.
The one-on-one confrontation brought a lot of excitement to the field, mainly in the Championship category, but also in categories A A, A, B, C, D, E, Ladies, and Seniors.
The golfers who got eliminated on this first day will play a second match for a consolation prize on Saturday, and the players from the second day will play the final using the Nassau system on Sunday, where the first and second place of the competition will be determined.
The players participating on the second day for the consolation prize will also play the final using the Nassau system, and the first place will be awarded.
It's important to note that in case of a tie for first place, a sudden death playoff will be held on the holes designated by the Committee, while for the second place, the scorecards will be used starting from hole 18 backwards, for the categories with handicap.
In Ladies and Seniors, the tiebreaker for first place will be a sudden death playoff, and for second place, the scorecards will be used using the regression system from hole 9 backwards, considering holes 10 to 18. The first two places in each category will be awarded trophies, as well as the first place in the consolation prize.
The players in the Championship and A A categories start from the blue tees, and from A to E categories they start from the white tees, according to their schedule.
There will be prizes for the best shots on holes 4, 7, 15, and 17. The first place will receive 10,000 pesos in consumption vouchers, the second place a stay at Estrella de Mar hotel in Mazatlán, the third place 5,000 pesos in consumption vouchers, the fourth place Bose headphones, and the fifth place a 3-day, 2-night stay in Parras de La Fuente.
In addition, there is a prize for the first hole in one registered in the tournament, which consists of a Harley Davidson Iron 883 ™ motorcycle.
