Kevin Durant leads the way as Warriors become NBA champions
Kevin Durant scored 39 points to lead the balanced attack of the Golden State Warriors, who defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120 in the fifth game of the NBA Finals and were crowned champions.
The star forward of the Warriors also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists, earning him the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the Finals.
Durant became the third player in NBA history to win the MVP award in his first Finals, joining Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan.
"It has been a dream season and the whole team deserves this award," Durant said. "It's incredible how we work together and fight as one."
