The new Resident Evil 2 will not take advantage of virtual reality as Resident Evil 7 did, offering a terrifying scenario in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, according to producers Tsuyoshi Kanda and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.
Kanda and Hirabayashi point out that the new Resident Evil 2 will not resort to VR because of a perspective issue on the storytelling of the video game.
"We are not thinking about virtual reality support currently, because the camera perspective and the over-the-shoulder option mean that virtual reality is not the best way to present the game. For us, virtual reality does not match the vision," said Kanda.
"Maybe giving them the rat's-eye view could have generated a wrong idea. But if you think that Rat VR is coming... that is not the case," added Hirabayashi.
Resident Evil 2 will arrive on January 25th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
