Neymar was a protagonist of the Russia 2018 World Cup, but not for his ball skills, his constant simulations of fouls were heavily criticized by players and coaches; however, it seems not to matter to him.
At his foundation's charity gala, the football player spoke with the press and touched on different topics. He confirmed his permanent stay at Paris Saint Germain and responded to his critics for spending more time on the field than with the ball at his feet.
"I have seen them (the jokes), I took them with humor. I even posted a joke with some kids about it on my Instagram. My football is about dribbling, facing the opponents. I can't tell my rivals 'excuse me, my love, I want to score a goal', I have to try to dribble them and they won't let me pass, they will foul me," explained Neymar.
"Many times, I'm faster than other players and they end up fouling me. The referees are there to see that. Do you think I like receiving fouls? No, because they hurt. After the matches, I put ice on for 4 or 5 hours. It's complicated but those who haven't really experienced it will never know," he added.
After a well-deserved rest in Sao Paulo, Neymar is preparing his return to Paris to join Thomas Tuchel, the new coach who added Gianluigi Buffon to the list of signings.
