A journalist asked about the jersey of the Peruvian National Team and Luka Modric responded: "Someone gave it to me to thank us for the football we played today," then he showed the jersey to the cameras.
Days before reaching the final of the World Cup, Croatia's coach, Zlatko Dalic, remembered the preparatory match against the Peruvian National Team in Miami.
"The experiences we had against Peru, Mexico, and Brazil were very valuable. If I have to talk only about the match against Peru, I can say that after that defeat, there was much debate among the journalists and the Croatian people. There were doubts about how we would perform at the World Cup. What I said was that we had to improve. And we did. Against Mexico, we did better," he said in a press conference.
