The Selection of Uruguay could not overcome France in the quarterfinals of Russia 2018. However, the team led by Óscar Washington Tabárez left a good impression and achieved good results on the field.

The 'charrúas' (whatever happens in the rest of the tournament) will finish in fifth place. The South American team won 4 matches and suffered only one defeat, which puts them in this privileged position just behind the semifinalists.
