Felipe Baloy, defender and captain of the Panama National Team, confirmed that he will retire after the match against Tunisia, the last match of the group stage of Russia 2018, Panama's first World Cup in history.

Baloy, 37 years old and current player for CSD Municipal in Guatemala, has been defending the Canalero team for eighteen years.

He will leave football with the honor of being the man who scored Panama's first goal in a World Cup, signed last Sunday against England.

"I don't know if I will play against Tunisia, but it is definitely my last match with the national team," said Felipe Baloy, who has experience in Mexican, Brazilian, Colombian and Guatemalan football, among others.

The player from Panama City, who has defended the national team in over a hundred matches, plans to remain involved in football in the future.

"I would like to stay connected to football. I'm going to take a break and think about it. I have some projects, courses on the table to become a coach or manager, and that's what is next for me. Acquire knowledge that as a player one does not have for the future," said the captain of Panama in the last press conference with the Central American team.
