Nigeria vs Iceland LIVE: Sigurdsson and the incredible penalty missed in the clouds for World Cup Russia 2018 [VIDEO]

Viernes 22 de Junio del 2018

Sigurdsson missed the great opportunity to score in the Nigeria vs Iceland match for Group D in the 2018 World Cup Russia.

Ahmed Musa scored a double on Friday to give the Nigeria national team a 2-0 victory over Iceland that put them in the race for qualification and gave Argentina a new chance to advance to the round of 16.

Musa, who had not started in the debut, scored two great goals in the second half of the match for Nigeria to earn three points and finish second behind Croatia.

In the opening goal, which came at the beginning of the second half, Musa controlled the ball in the box and shot it over the goalkeeper. In the 75th minute, he made it 2-0 with a great finish after dribbling half of the Icelandic defense.

Near the end, Gylfi Sigurdsson of Iceland shot a penalty kick into the stands, which would have given his team a consolation goal.

Nigeria's victory gave life to Argentina. If the South Americans defeat the African team in their last match and the already qualified Croatia at least draws with Iceland, they will advance to the round of 16.
