Diego Lainez, one of the stars of Mexico's runner-up team at the Toulon Hopes, stated that Russia 2018 will be the last World Cup he won't attend with the 'Tri'.

At just 18 years old, Diego Lainez was one of the standout players in the Esperanzas de Toulón 2018 Tournament, where Mexico achieved second place. And although he will not be present at Russia 2018, the young promise from America believes that this will be his last World Cup as a spectator.

"Hopefully this will be my last World Cup as a fan. It's honestly what I want the most," explained Diego Lainez to Marca Claro, who also competed with Mexico in the last U-17 World Cup, where he scored two goals.

"I have been fortunate to be part of these important events. It's a pride to be part of this, that we have already been assigned to host a World Cup in Mexico, the United States, and Canada," added Lainez at the FIFA organized ceremony.

On the other hand, Diego Lainez assured that he has the highest expectations for Mexico in Russia 2018. When asked until which stage of the tournament the 'Tri' will reach, he responded, "champion."

Mexico will debut at Russia 2018 this Sunday in Moscow, where they will have a tough match against Germany, the reigning world champion.
