Colombia's Defender Cristian Zapata Believes in their chances at the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018
Cristian Zapata, a defender for the Colombian national team, stated that it is not impossible for Colombia to win the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, which begins next Thursday. The 'Cafetero' has faith in the work of Néstor Pékerman as the coach of Colombia. He knows it will be difficult, but believes in the talent of their squad to advance through the stages of the tournament.
Wants to be in the fight
"Dreams can come true, so you have to fight for them and on the 19th (day of the debut against Japan) we have our first battle where we have to show it... So we have to always try to give our best in each game," said Zapata to journalists at Milanello, the club's headquarters where the national team is preparing for the World Cup.
Colombia, led by Argentine José Pékerman, completed its penultimate training session in Italy before traveling to Kazan tomorrow, the Russian city where they will be based. Colombia will debut in Saransk on June 19 against Japan in Group H of the World Cup, which also includes Poland and Senegal.
