The midfielder Enzo Pérez, who entered in place of the injured Manuel Lanzini in Jorge Sampaoli's final list for the World Cup in Russia, arrived in Moscow on Sunday afternoon from his country and was received by Messi and company. The images are already viral on YouTube.
The River Plate midfielder, 32 years old, then headed to his team's base camp in Bronnitsy, in the southeast of the Russian capital, where he will train for the first time under Sampaoli's orders.
"Now I have to wake up a little from the dream," Pérez had said to TyC Sports channel shortly after learning the news, as explained in the images on YouTube.
"Unfortunately, I enter due to a teammate's injury. I want to wish him a speedy recovery," added the midfielder.
Sampaoli, considering the physical discomfort of Lucas Biglia and Éver Banega, finally opted for a defensive midfielder as a substitute for Lanzini instead of a more offensive option, such as Diego Perotti, Erik Lamela or even Mauro Icardi.
