Frank Fabra suffered an injury and everyone wondered who would replace him. The main candidate was Farid Diaz, a defender from Olimpia Paraguay. And this Saturday night, the Colombian national team made it official.
The Colombian national team announced on Saturday night the call-up of Farid Diaz, a 34-year-old left-back, who will join José Pekerman's squad.
"Today, after the confirmation of the sad news of Frank Fabra's injury, the coaching staff decided to call up defender Farid Diaz, who currently plays for Olimpia Paraguay," says the statement from the Colombian national team.
Farid Díaz is called up to the Colombian national team as a replacement for Frank Fabra.

Farid Diaz has represented the Colombian national team in 13 matches. He played in the Copa America 2016 in the United States and also in the qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
