The coach of Mexico, Colombian Juan Carlos Osorio, said on Saturday that he is not worried about the defeat against Denmark and the image in the friendly matches before the 2018 World Cup. Although he believes that it is necessary to improve the attacking game.
"I think that in the three games we were always involved in them. If I can correct something it would be efficiency, making better entries in the last third. The game is defined by very small details," said the coach of Mexico in the press conference after the match.
Osorio is confident that his team will perform well against Germany in their debut in Russia 2018. "With the combinations that we have planned for the game against Germany, I think we will have possibilities (...) We already have defined what we are going to do strategically and the team. There are very good chances of being at one hundred percent," he added.
The Colombian coach considers that the first half against Denmark was "very even" and that the change of Herrera and Guardado at halftime was key, but forced by an agreement with the medical staff after their return from their injuries.
"While they were there, we controlled the game very well. In the second half, with the changes, we altered the complementarity, sometimes we arrived a second late to the pressure," said the coach of Mexico.
However, Osorio did not excuse the error that preceded the 2-0, which came from a throw-in that left Eriksen alone against Ochoa. "The second goal does not admit any kind of apology, we have to work and improve. You can't score a goal from a throw-in. We were very, very fragile handling that situation," he concluded.
