Main targets for AC Milan in the transfer market

Spanish Álvaro Morata and Colombian Radamel Falcao are the main targets for AC Milan to strengthen their attack for the next season, according to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport".

The signing of one of them, either the Madrid striker from Chelsea or the Colombian international from Monaco, depends on whether UEFA, which is reviewing Milan's financial accounts, will allow the "rossoneri" to participate in the next Europa League, reports the newspaper.

In fact, Milan, owned by Chinese investor Li Yong Hong, has been referred to the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) on May 22 for violating the Financial Fair Play regulations.

The CFCB members will decide in the coming days whether to sanction the "rossoneri" with a financial fine, with transfer restrictions, with squad limitations or even with exclusion from the Europa League, all measures that would complicate Milan's season planning.

According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport", Milan will go for Morata only if they can compete in the Europa League, while if they receive a sanction, they would focus on the signing of Falcao, whose salary is cheaper than Morata's.

The Italian newspaper assures that Morata, whose wife is Italian, is interested in returning to Serie A, a championship that he already knows having played two seasons at Juventus. The former Real Madrid player would only agree to sign with Milan if the club allows him to play on an international stage.

If the signing of Morata does not materialize, Milan plans to bet on Falcao, 32 years old and a key player with 38 goals in the last two seasons with Monaco.

To limit expenses, the "rossoneri" would request a one-year loan for the Colombian forward and would compensate Monaco by loaning them young Portuguese player André Silva, who did not have much prominence in the last campaign, reports the pink pages newspaper.
