Morocco sets an impressive record before World Cup
They are incredible. Morocco has established an important record before their participation in Russia 2018. The team, led by Hervé Renard, surpasses even the unbeaten streak held by the Peruvian national team.
The African team, after their draw against Ukraine last Wednesday, has reached 16 matches without a defeat. However, they will have the difficult task of maintaining this record when they face Slovakia this afternoon.
Morocco's official squad for Russia 2018, led by Mehdi Benatia:
If they achieve it, the Moroccan national team will be only one game away from arriving at Russia 2018 as the third country with the best ongoing unbeaten streak (only behind Spain -19 matches without a defeat- and Belgium -with 17-).
The Peruvian national team has managed to string together 14 matches without a defeat (after defeating Saudi Arabia), placing them behind the Moroccans with less than 15 days remaining for the start of the World Cup.
Morocco has a pending debt with regard to World Cup appearances. Out of 5 participations, they have only reached the round of 16 once (Mexico 1986). They will try to take advantage of their good moment to surprise in the group they share with Spain, Portugal, and Iran.
