EA Sports confirms FIFA 18 World Cup update
EA Sports confirmed a few days ago that the 2018 World Cup will also be experienced in FIFA 18 through a completely free update. It will feature the 32 qualified teams and several game modes to win the World Cup with customized teams.
The update was announced for PS4, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. However, players with PS3 and Xbox 360 seem to have been left out of the excitement of the World Cup. The company has not confirmed that it will make a special edition for the old generation of consoles.
The main reason is the graphic engine. Everything has been created with Frostbite, a cutting-edge 3D modeling tool developed by Electronic Arts. In Xbox 360 and PS3, a different development had to be made, and even FIFA 18 has less content.
This may be EA Sports' way of forcing its players to move to the new generation. However, the mobile game will have a version of Russia 2018, and it is believed that the motivation to develop a mobile version is due to the number of players that platform has.
For now, we will have to wait for confirmation from the company to know if all versions of FIFA 18 will be updated with the World Cup.
