Super Champions is one of the most remembered animes from the 80s and 90s. In Japanese it was released under the name "Captain Tsubasa", while in Latin America it was changed to "Super Champions", and in Spain it was colloquially called "Oliver and Benji".
The official website of the anime announced today the release date, in Japan it will be on April 3rd, while in South America it will arrive one day earlier. David Production has been working on the return of "Oliver and Benji" for a long time, and it will coincide with the pre-World Cup times of Russia 2018.
The story of this version of Super Champions will go back to the beginning of the manga, where the story of Tsubasa Osora is told. The character is an eleven-year-old boy who lives for his passion for soccer and currently trains with Roberto Hongo, a former Brazilian soccer player.
It has not been confirmed whether Super Champions will be released in Latin America with the Spanish dubbing. In case the anime is not translated, the names of the iconic characters will be completely different from what many know.
