Despite being just a few months away from turning 40, Claudio Pizarro still feels he has enough energy to be a starter at Colonia.
This idea is not shared by the coach of the German team, who prefers to keep him as a wildcard until the last minutes of the match.
"Of course I imagined this differently. I am fit and feel good. It's a shame. I want to play, but the coach decides," explained Claudio Pizarro in an interview with the media outlet "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger".
The lack of opportunities fills the 'Andean Bomber' with a bit of frustration, but it does not discourage him from giving his all for Colonia, who is fighting relegation.
"I want to keep playing football and I really like the club," said the veteran national striker who dreams of going to the 2018 World Cup. Although that dream is quite remote.
