The Argentine midfielder of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Javier Pastore, referred to his departure from the club during this winter transfer window with the aim of getting more playing time and being part of the Argentine national team for the upcoming World Cup Russia 2018.
"If I don't go to the World Cup because I stayed here, I won't forgive myself. I wasn't called up in the last squad because I don't play here, it's normal. Argentina has many players who are better," he said after last night's match against Montpellier (4-0).
"Here I have to wait for someone to get injured in order to play a match," he added.
Javier Pastore acknowledged that he has not made a decision yet, but said he is talking to the club to facilitate his departure.
"It also depends on the club I'm going to go to. I don't want to leave at all costs. If I leave, it's to go to Italy, a league that I know well and that I really like. My wife is there and family is important to me. We will try to reach an agreement with the club in the coming days," said the midfielder of PSG.
