The forward, who was called up for the matches against New Zealand, has joined his team's preseason training at Vancouver Whitecaps in Toronto, Canada, which plays in the MLS (United States).

There, the team's coach Carl Robinson talked about the former Alianza Lima player and the off-field problems that echoed in the press.

"I saw him for the first time this morning and I noticed he is mentally well. My interest is for him to dedicate himself to football, obviously it was not easy for the affected family but he always faced it and came out clean," commented Carl Robinson.

Yordy Reyna hopes that the situation he went through regarding the death of Alessandra Chocano does not harm his situation in the Peruvian national team. The forward hopes to be called up by Gareca for the friendly matches in March and the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018.
