Porto maintains Mexican defender Miguel Layún
Despite Mexican defender Miguel Layún requesting to leave Porto in Portugal, the team has decided to keep him for the second part of the 2017-18 Primeira Liga season.
According to the newspaper O Jogo, the Dragons team has no intention of negotiating the transfer of the Mexican defender during this winter market, despite his limited playing time.
The former América player wanted to be transferred to another team to gain form and arrive in optimal condition for the 2018 World Cup with the Mexican team.
Teams like Alavés, Betis, and Celta de Vigo from Spain have shown interest in the player who was part of the 2014 Brazil World Cup, but Layún has only played in 13 matches this season in the local league, domestic cup, and the European Champions League.
