FAN ID: Obligatory Document to Attend the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia
Andrei Romankov, Deputy Head of the Department of Strategic Project Implementation at the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of Russia, informed that spectators attending the 2018 World Cup will be required to obtain a FAN ID, which will be a mandatory document to access the stadiums.
"To attend the FIFA World Cup 2018, spectators will have to obtain a FAN ID. This is a mandatory document required for those who wish to access the stadiums to watch the matches. Spectators can complete an application to obtain a FAN ID and receive it after purchasing the tickets to attend the event," he stated.
The FAN ID is a form that contains the user's personal information and photo; it will be free of charge and valid for all matches of the World Cup in Russia.
Foreign fans will be able to enter and exit the country without a VISA, as long as they present their FAN ID within ten days prior to the first match of the tournament. Likewise, they must leave the country within ten days after the last match.
In addition, the FAN ID will allow the holder to travel for free on special trains that will connect the cities of the World Cup, as well as on the public transport of the same cities during the days when matches are played.
If you wish to attend the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, you must obtain a FAN ID, which you can apply for at fan-id.ru, where a list of relevant sites for its acquisition will be made available.
The start of the registration for completing FAN ID applications will be announced soon.
