The Mexican Soccer Federation announced that the National Team will return to the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday, January 31st, to start the preparation for the tricolor team's participation in the 2018 World Cup.
This will be Mexico's first match in 2018 in preparation for the World Cup, although the opponent will be defined at a later date.
The mayor of San Antonio, Antonio Ron Nirenberg, commented that they are excited "to continue growing soccer in San Antonio and we are pleased to receive the very popular Mexican national team and its passionate fans."
Mexico, who finished as the leader of the final hexagonal of the Concacaf, will take advantage of the match as key preparation while coach Juan Carlos Osorio assembles the squad for the World Cup.
This will be the fifth time in history that the national team plays at the Alamodome. The last match that the Tri played in this venue was in July 2017 as part of the Gold Cup, when they defeated Curacao 2-0.
Tickets for the match will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, October 31st, through various electronic platforms in the United States.
