The interim coach of Ecuador, Argentine Jorge Celico, highlighted the quality of Argentine footballers, while his team trained behind closed doors today for the match next Tuesday in Quito, in the closing of the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

"Argentina is one of the best teams in the world, that's a fact, but they also face the same level of difficulty as us in terms of competition," Celico said to the Ecuadorian Football Federation's YouTube channel (FEF).

Celico ensured that Argentina has a high level Paulo Dybala, a Lionel Messi, not to mention, and a Mauro Icardi who is getting used to the national team.

"Players like Javier Mascherano, legends like Sergio Romero, players of very good local level like Marcos Acuña. They have countless top-level players who will surely come here to give their best," he said.

After the recent 2-1 defeat against Chile and the elimination of any possibility of going to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Ecuador began training today, but behind closed doors, for their farewell against Argentina, in which Celico predicted that they will go for victory.

"We will take advantage of our audience's support, the drive, the speed our players generate, here in our stadium, to be overwhelming, to see an Ecuador absolutely committed with the sole objective of winning," he said.
